Colorectal Cancer Awareness

Colorectal cancer affects thousands of people.

It’s also the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the U.S. Every year:

  • 140,000 people are diagnosed with it
  • More than 50,000 die from it

Some people are at a greater risk for colon cancer. This includes those ages 50+ and those with a family history of it.
Other risk factors include:

  • Being overweight
  • A poor diet
  • Lack of physical activity
  • Excessive alcohol use

Most people should get screened once a year from ages 50–75. Your doctor may advise early screening based on your risk.
